Alaska

AlaskaIn the year 2000, Starplex / CMS began to explore the huge frontier of the State of Alaska by joining the Alaska State Fair and managing the crowds of this 12-day event. By 2003, we were not only providing all crowd management services for the fair, we also assumed the traffic and parking operations which is responsible for seven miles of traffic and 72 acres of parking facilities.

After transferring in 16 supervisory and key training staff each year, Starplex / CMS has developed a local crew of approximately 250 staff who serve the Crowd Management and Traffic and Parking divisions at this huge fair. We call on these individuals, and develop new Ambassadors, each year as we return.

Further exploration in 2005 brought us to the Tanana Valley State Fair in Fairbanks, Alaska where we have developed a new service partnership with the 9-day fair. Currently, we maintain a local staff of 78 Ambassadors who provide the crowd management services at the Tanana Valley State Fair in August of each year.

Because of our success at the two Alaska State Fairs, other events and activities have contacted Starplex / CMS and requested services for events and activities in Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla, and Fairbanks. As these requests continue to grow in number, we plan to develop and maintain a full-time regional operations center in the State of Alaska.
